Before homecoming
What families should know
A Golden Age puppy is placed with care, clear expectations, and a focus on lifelong wellbeing.
Registration transfer
Golden Age collects the information needed for ownership registration transfer after purchase. Families do not need a registration number for the first inquiry.
Health and records
Available deworming, veterinary care, vaccination, microchip, and screening information should be reviewed for the specific puppy and litter.
Purchase agreement
The signed agreement explains deposits, payment timing, registration, health terms, family responsibilities, and return-to-breeder expectations.
Companion homes
Puppies are primarily placed as companion pets unless another arrangement is separately discussed and approved.
Lifelong commitment
Families are expected to provide safety, nutrition, veterinary care, socialization, and lifelong companionship.
If life changes
Golden Age asks families to make contact before transferring or rehoming a dog so the dog's wellbeing remains protected.
Puppy preparation
A careful beginning
Cute photos matter, but the best matches are built through honest preparation.
Early conversations help families prepare for real life with a Golden Retriever: daily routines, training, grooming, safe spaces, veterinary care, and the first weeks at home.
Common questions
Adoption questions
These answers are general. Current details are confirmed directly with Golden Age Kennel.
Can I choose sex or colour?
You may share a preference for male, female, or no preference, and for light, golden, dark, or no colour preference. Availability depends on the litter, and matching also considers temperament and family fit.
When is payment due?
Deposit stages, payment timing, GST, and final balance details are confirmed directly and outlined in the purchase agreement before a puppy is released.
What does the health guarantee cover?
Health guarantee terms are explained in the purchase agreement. Families should review the current agreement for qualifying conditions, documentation requirements, exclusions, and timelines.
What health records should I ask about?
Ask about current deworming, veterinary care, vaccination, microchip, parent-dog information, and any breed-relevant screening records available for the specific puppy and litter.
What happens if I can no longer keep my dog?
Contact Golden Age Kennel before transferring or rehoming the dog. The purchase agreement explains return-to-breeder expectations and helps protect the dog's wellbeing.
